Well, Conor did way better than anyone thought he would. I knew if it went past 6 rounds Floyd would win. Conor hurt Floyd a few times and he landed more shots on Floyd than the majority of his opponents ever have. Mad respect to Conor. All these Floyd nut huggers need to realize that an MMA guy just went 10 rounds (winning 3 or 4 of those rounds) with debatably the best boxer in the world.

Yeah he was looking real good in the first few rounds. I thought for a min he had a chance to win.
He got tired and wouldn't keep his hands up and just got killed in the end.

Floyd weathered the storm then just beat him up once he was too fatigued.

I respect Floyd much more after this. He fought with the lighter gloves and went toe to toe. Conor had a chance to earn it as Floyd fought him on his terms and he still couldn't put a 40 year old away.

Conor got his payday. Floyd got an incredible send off.

^ this! plus if the roles we reversed and floyd fought conor in a MMA fight then floyd wouldnt get out of the first round.... so its kinda sad conor could go 10 rounds (and win a few) with the best boxer probably ever, while we know floyd couldnt go 1 round in MMA fight with conor and survive

Floyd MIGHT last 1 minute in MMA against Conor... if he's lucky. No way he's going a whole 5 minute round. haha

Yeah, one leg kick to Mayweather's twig legs...he would fold like a pretzel.

But to be fair, Mayweather never called out Conor or any MMA fighter to an octagon fight. He knows what would happen.

Word is Conor will eventually pull in $100+ mill once ppv and gate money is calculated.

UFC does pay anywhere near that money for one fight. Even the multi fight contracts Conor signs aren't that big.

It was smart to get paid for sure. I mean we all knew what it was.

Conor screamed and yelled so he get could money.

It's not like Floyd demanded a match in the octagon.

I agree and I don't care if Floyd has the best record ever in boxing, he's hands down not the best (or the most entertaining) boxer to ever walk this earth. It really shouldn't even be up for debate.

Floyd is over 40 and people are acting like Conor went toe to toe with the best boxer. He's not the fighter he was. If they were the same age how would this have gone down?

There would have never even been a boxing match in the first place, if it weren't for Conor's big mouth. He is a smart man.

They both walk away with a lot of money and either reps intact. Almost liked it was setup like that to happen...

Mayweather is most likely the best defensive boxer of all time. Also there is "nuthuggers" on both sides of this, Floyd let conor take the early rounds with his activity. It's no question Conor has cardio issues or adrenaline dumps. Floyd let him wear himself out while figuring out Conor's movements. Once he got his timing down he started turning it up and took over with his hard counters. I mean come on guys you think Floyd was trying to win those first three rounds? The guy threw 6 punches one whole round. Credit to Conor I respect any guy who gets in a cage/ring for combat sports. Also if Mayweather came over to mma you think he'd last 30mins(25mins for mma) against Conor or any top guy?

Absolutely not but he isn't an MMA fighter.

No I agree on that, Conor isn't a boxer either. Anyone remember James tony and what happened when he tried his hand in MMA? To different sports I prefer mma over boxing, but I enjoy both.

Merged the various pro fighting threads.

Anyway, I've been watching much more boxing lately.

Looking forward to the Lomachenko fight tonight!

It's hard to say with how much he outclasses people. He smoke Crolla.. bad. Did you see the final output number for shots landed?

Left number is total, middle is jab, then power shots.

    Lomachenko 72 of 249 (29%) 14 of 112 (13%) 58 of 137(42%)
    Crolla 12 of 96 (13%) 5 of 45 (11%) 7 of 51 (14%)

I did. If he didn't spend the first round feeling him out this thing would have been an even bigger disaster.

Very impressed with Loma. Too bad he's a little smaller than Floyd and their timelines didn't really match up as this is probably the guy who would have been the best Mayweather fight.

Ordering up DAZN to watch the Joshua fight tonight. I'll report back on how the service is.

Also, Deontay Wilder announced a rematch with Tyson Fury for early 2020.

Their first fight I bought tickets to and was the best fight I've ever seen. Depending on where their rematch is I'll strongly consider going to it.

Dazn is a good service for sure. Wild upset for the history books. Amazing Joshua gets over 80% of the PPV profits when he fights. Hes on a one fight deal with them, he was supposed to sign a multi fight contract with them. I wonder how this will effect the negotiations.
